Crocodile

You see, I’ve been thinking about us. Us, as in the biological world, humans, animals, and the design of the human body in particular. As I said, a while ago, I was trying to go to sleep and I kept having a hard time getting comfortable. It seems that I could not find a comfortable place for my arms! So I started thinking about the human body design that we have and the evolution of it. The way we have progressed if you want to call it that. The way we live. The design of our body is not efficient and compatible with what we do, especially with what we could be doing.

We spend almost the third of our lives not doing anything. And that is a very conservative estimate. By that I mean we sleep at night. Add to that, the time spent commuting, walking, making a poo [in the bathroom preferably], taking a break since our body/brain needs a break, eating, drinking, getting dressed, getting a cold… you get the picture.

The only reason I talk about the crocodile thing is just to give an example of a species that has not had the need to evolve since the beginning. It is what it is. What’s more interesting is that it can grow a tooth back over 3000 times over its lifespan. It also does not get infected at all. If it gets cut or loses a limb it heals and just keeps going.

It is not dependent on anything much. Just eats when there’s food. It can also survive for over a year without eating. I want to make it clear though, that the Human body, the way it’s designed it works very well. I just think that it’s not the correct design for the way we live today. I am not saying that I have a better design or that it’s not working. I am just not satisfied with it and that it seems to limit me and I always feel that either there’s not enough time or that I am wasting too much time…

Anyway, I think you’re up to speed at this point. I just wanted to open it up again.

On a side note: I also think that our transportation methods are very, VERY archaic… It’s somewhat related since it’s also so very not efficiently designed. I was actually thinking that especially since I freakin’ so much drive every day, that we are wasting so much space and causing more traffic than we should. I mean I drive a 4~5 passenger car to work every day by myself and my car is mostly empty. I know you’re probably thinking, ‘Hey dummy, we’ve got public mass transportation for that’ but that’s not enough. I was actually thinking about some kind of a one-person vehicle, no not ‘Ginger’ a.k.a ‘IT’. That’s more of a toy to show what they can do with technology. Yet another example of not thinking outside of the box or pushing the boundaries.

I was thinking along the lines of a pod-like device that can carry one person but yet its design is modular enough that you can attach more than one to each other and designate one to be the controller and then you have a more efficient system of transportation. Now if you really want to take this and merge it with the crocodile mind ripple then you have a wide-open range of possibilities. Such as if we [our bodies] were designed differently, well…

Well, this is what I think about when I’m trying to fall asleep at night, or when I’m stuck in traffic, or when I’m in the bathroom kicking one out…

Oh well.
